Trekking Megalobriso - Agia
A hiking journey (about 45 minutes) starting at Megalovriso and ending at Agia. It is an old path – cobbled road crossing a beautiful forest next to a stream which used to connect Agia with Megalovriso. There are signs with the environmental features of the route and there is also a map. There are important post-byzantine monument on or next to the path  (Agios Nikolaos Kerasas, Twelve Apostles, Agia Triada, Monastery of Panagia and more).

Megalovriso (its name used to be Nivoliani = heavenly town in Slavic) has been proclaimed a traditional village and its houses (built by locals) are characterized by the uniformity of their colour. The village is built on two hills, at an altitude of 600 metres on the north-east slopes of Ossa, 7km far from Agia and 14 km from Agiokambos. It is unknown when the village was established but it is somewhere between the 11th and 13th century. Its 437 inhabitants are in the business of agriculture, arborization and stock-breeding. Today it is part of the Municipality of Agia.

Agia, centre of the Municipality of Agia, is 37 km far from Larisa. The area has been inhabited since the prehistoric times. Relics of a settlement of the Bronze Age saw the light at Kostari. In ancient times it was very important due to its strategic position (Agia = road, passage). Its long history has to show us many invasions, loots and conquests: Catalans, Albanians, Othoman (Turks). It is built at an altitude of 200 metres on the south foothills of Kissavos. In the winter it has 3013 inhabitants, while in the summer the number rises to 5000. During the year, the people from Agia are occupied with agricultural activities, mainly with the production of apples, pears, cherries. There are even a few saddlers. It is the home town of the monk and man of letters Methodios Olympos.
